We have more exciting news to share about our Navigation Center! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has made a significant donation to our organization to help cover vital costs related to infrastructure, equipment, and operational support.

The Church of Jesus Christ has a long history of partnering with True North to make a difference in the community. This includes providing a generous food grant that has supported the Torres Community Shelter kitchen since 2022, helping to provide 3 meals a day to over 150 guests per day on average. Church members regularly serve dinner to guests at the shelter, and earlier this year, the Church provided a grant to repair and restore functionality to the men’s ADA shower.

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints's love for humanity fuels our enthusiasm for this collaborative effort to expand True North's Howard Slater Navigation Center. By partnering with local non-profits, county support agencies, and other supportive businesses, we're excited to help provide critical resources that will prevent homelessness and create lasting positive change in our community," says President Jared Garrison, California Chico Stake - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

We are so incredibly grateful for the continued support of our friends with the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Time and time again the Church has answered our calls for community support with ‘how can we help?’ going above and beyond to make an impact in nearly every facet of our nonprofit’s work. They are true partners in our mission!

We have now raised over $1.7 million toward our $2.5 million goal for the Howard Slater Navigation Center, thanks to community support! We are so grateful and are working hard to cross that finish line together.

Thank you for being on this journey with us.
