Furniture for our Navigation Center

We’re thankful for Guillon-Brouhard Commercial Real Estate’s support!

Why are Jody and Jerry smiling so big? Because Bill Brouhard and Doug Guillon, owners of Guillon-Brouhard Commercial Real Estate, just made a generous donation to support our navigation center!

They have gifted us with $30,000-worth of much-needed office furniture, storage racks, and kitchen items and equipment.

The value of generous in-kind donations like this cannot be overstated for nonprofit organizations like ours. We are so thrilled to receive such thoughtful support from Bill and Doug for the Howard Slater Navigation Center! Their donation will directly offer comfort and support to our staff and folks in need.

Jody, a recently housed guest of the Torres Shelter, and True North's Facilities Manager Jerry (right) accept donations from Guillon-Brouhard Commercial Real Estate. Jody is part of our workforce development program.

Guillon-Brouhard Commercial Real Estate specializes in industrial leasing, turn-key office and industrial facilities and management of large-scale, mixed-use land planning, entitlement and development projects in and beyond Butte County. Bill and Doug have helped create over $80 million of private investment in Chico, creating jobs and stimulating the local economy.

They also serve on the Chico Builders Association, and have supported us at True North with help sourcing real estate and serving Thanksgiving dinners to guests in need.

Bill and Doug were friends with Howard Slater and have worked closely with Slater & Son for many years. We are so grateful that they wanted to help honor Howard’s legacy by supporting the Howard Slater Navigation Center.

“What our community has been through to try and help the homeless population has brought it to the front page—there has been a lot of crisis, controversy and conflict, but out of that you get a community that is more deeply engaged. And if there’s a bright side to any of that conflict that we’ve been through as a community, it’s that more people can put their treasure, time and talents into supporting what True North Housing Alliance is doing. It’s extremely important in any community, but particularly in Chico.” -- Bill Brouhard

Thanks to community support, we are now just $946,000 away from reaching our $2.5 million fundraising goal to build the Howard Slater Navigation Center! Will you help us close the gap?

Thank you to everyone who has joined the cause so far--whether you have helped spread the word, donated, attended fundraisers, etc., we appreciate you so much! Every bit helps.

With gratitude,

Taylor Bunch, Executive Director of True North Housing Alliance
