The 4 by 100 Fundraiser: Let's do this!
Today marks Day 1 of our 4 by 100 fundraiser, where we aim to raise $400,000 over the next 100 days.
Right now, we are in a time of crisis and our demand for shelter services is increasing. But we know with our community’s help that we will be able to continue to assist the city and our community partners in our joint efforts to address homelessness!
We’ll be hosting events as part of this fundraiser, and will be sharing more details soon! But as of right now, we’re asking people to donate, whatever they can, to support us. We know that it has been a difficult time for all of us these past several years in particular, and we are sincerely thankful for any help our community can give!
We have expanded our sheltering and housing programs at True North rapidly over the past several years. We've done this to help survivors of catastrophic wildfires, such as the Camp Fire, and to respond to the COVID pandemic. This has, unfortunately, greatly impacted our organization’s operational capacity.
Now, with the city settlement of Warren v. Chico and the clearing of homeless camps in the city, more people in need are being referred directly to our programs.
Our programs work: Last year, we served 693 people and of those provided permanent or semi-permanent housing to 291 people—that is 42% of our population. This is because we have an amazing team that provides wraparound case management that addresses every aspect of an individual’s needs in order to get them into stable, secure housing.
We are restructuring our programs at True North and examining new, more stable funding sources. This will allow us to continue to address critical gaps and provide our life-saving, evidence-based, wraparound services without duplicating the efforts of other organizations in our community.
But we need our community’s help now in order make it through this time of crisis.
We believe in our community and the power that we have to make a difference together!
