Home Again - Our Mission This Giving Season
Can you imagine being diagnosed with cancer and not having a place to live? Being on the streets with diabetes and no way to access or store your life-saving medications? Trying to navigate homelessness while using a wheelchair or walker and having no place to call your home?
This is the harsh reality for so many folks experiencing homelessness—nearly half of our clients at the Torres Community Shelter have a physical disability and just over 40% have a chronic health condition.
This holiday season, we need your help to continue providing them with compassionate care and the tools they need to permanently end their homelessness. Will you donate to our Home Again fundraiser today to help us meet our goal to raise $100,000 total to shelter and house people in need?
For a limited time, the impact of your donation will be doubled! Through Dec. 31st, 2023, our generous partners at Chuck Patterson Toyota and another kind friend of True North will match every dollar raised up to $50,000.
We know that permanently ending homelessness requires more than just a roof over one's head—it's about addressing the root causes.
This is why we are continuing to implement innovative new programs improving accessibility, and provide mental health and substance use counseling services, vocational training, social enrichment, and a full year of additional case management to every individual we serve even after they are housed.
As a result, True North is helping more people secure housing and stay housed, dramatically reducing returns to homelessness. This year we have permanently housed over 130 people!
This holiday season, let’s work together to help unhoused folks with chronic illnesses and physical disabilities find their way home again.
Sincerely,
Taylor Bunch
