True North Continues to Grow: Our Summer 2021 Newsletter

We’ve continued to persevere and work hard to move people forward and out of homelessness despite the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, we’re expanding our sheltering programs to serve more people, and we’ve continued to help a variety of individuals—including seniors, the chronically ill, and fire survivors—secure shelter and housing.

In our Summer 2021 issue of Porch Light, available now …

  • You'll read about how True North continues to grow from our Executive Director Joy Amaro, including our expansion of the Torres Community Shelter that is currently underway.

  • You'll meet Michael and Sandy, seniors who fell in love while in our programs and just moved into their own home.

  • You'll read about the Butte United Shelter Program , a new program of ours in partnership with United Way of Northern California. It provides non-congregate shelter for seniors and the chronically ill. You’ll meet Camp Fire survivor Julia, one of the clients we’re helping move forward.

  • You'll meet Angela, a domestic violence and sexual assault survivor, who found the strength and support she desperately needed at the Torres Community Shelter.

These milestones are all possible thanks to your support. Please consider making a donation today—your contribution goes directly to our programs that change people’s lives.
