For June, we are honored to feature Coffee Club collaborating artist Chaz Honey Hennessy!

Last year, Chaz, a local artist and also one of our amazing Team True North members, achieved his Bachelor's of Fine Arts, with a culminating art exhibition entitled "The Silent Shore."

In Chaz's words: My current body of work focuses on my personal relationship with the ocean and my experiences interacting with it while addressing the problem of plastic waste along the coast of southern California. My use of nautical motifs (buoy forms cast in concrete and beach plastic) are in reference to my family's heritage that is interlaced with the ocean and my response in that environment within my lifetime.

"I will never know the clean ocean my grandfather fished in or the clean sands my mother danced on, only a silent shore covered in plastic."

Chaz's most recent art project has been developing a sculpture garden. You can follow him and his artwork on Instagram at @exclusively_honey

You can read more about The Silent Shore in this Collection of Thoughts and Poems by Chaz.
