A Record-Breaking Year: Our 2024 Annual Report

Over the past 27 years, True North has grown to meet the needs of our community, and we are now the largest and most cost-effective connector to shelter and permanent housing in Butte County.

2024 was a record-breaking year of service for us. Last year, we reached a record number of 1,230 people, and we housed nearly 200. Notably, an overwhelming majority (93%) of the people housed via our Quality Aftercare case management program stayed housed a year later.

You can read more about our latest impacts, demographics, and outcomes in our annual report, available now!

A Message From Our Executive Director

Dear Supporters,

Thanks to your unwavering support in 2024, we served over 1,230 people in need in our community—a remarkable 33% increase from the previous year. At the same time, we dramatically decreased our cost per person per day to far below the national average!

This year’s annual report reflects the transformative power of our collective efforts to make a difference. Through donations, volunteer hours, and in-kind support, we delivered 153,300 meals, housed nearly 200 individuals, and provided expanded case management to ensure long-term stability and success.

Together, we were able to reach a record number of people, streamline our programs, and expand our critical services offered via street outreach, case management, workforce development and more.

In our Quality Aftercare Program, clients received a year of case management while housed to ensure stability and success. A significant 93% of people housed in this program stayed housed!

But as you will also read in our annual report, the work is far from over. This year, we look ahead with excitement to the Howard Slater Navigation Center, on track to open late Summer 2025. This groundbreaking project will provide immediate access to homelessness prevention, housing assistance, and essential services.

We have already raised over $1.9 million of our $2.5 million goal to build our center and break the cycle of homelessness in Butte County. Once completed, we will be able to reach 90% of our unhoused population countywide and house at least 250 people per year.

Will you donate today to help us cross that finish line?

On behalf of our team and the individuals we serve, thank you for your support and for believing in our mission. Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate community with a renewed energy and hope for the future!

With gratitude,

Taylor Bunch

Executive Director
